Yatsenyuk invites U.S. business to privatize Ukrainian companies

Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has urged the U.S. businessmen to participate in privatization of Ukrainian enterprises, Ukrinform reports.

"We call on the U.S. business to participate in the large-scale privatization of the Ukrainian state-owned enterprises," the PM said during the Ukraine-US Investment Conference.

Yatsenyuk reminded that the Government had made a series of decisions to allow privatization of energy companies. PJSC Centrenergo [Ukraine's state-run power generating company], which owns the largest power generating plants in Ukraine, a number of chemical plants and several electric grids operators will be privatized on a fully transparent and competitive basis," he said.

According to the PM, Ukraine needs experience and technology of the United States, "which will help the economy become more attractive, and the Ukrainian companies become more competitive."

Head of the Government named agriculture, energy production and infrastructure among other major areas of economic cooperation between Ukraine and the United States.
